Meet the Team
These are some of the people you might see when you come into the specialist dental service:
Consultant - This is a dentist that has done specialist training and leads the team. We have a Consultant in Paediatric (Children's) Dentistry and a Consultant in Special Care Dentistry. |
Dentist - our dentists have experience in either Paediatric (children's) Dentistry or Special Care Dentistry. They may be dental officers, senior dental officers or specialists. |
Dental Trainees - These are qualified dentists doing additional training. They may be Foundation Dentists, Core Trainees or Specialist Trainees. They are supervised by a specialist or consultant. |
Dental Therapist - A dental therapist is a member of the dental team who provides preventive and restorative dental care for children and adults. |
Dental Nurse - Our dental nurses work alongside and assist our dentists, therapists and hygienists. It is a varied role and can include everything from supporting with routine examinations to advanced specialist treatments. |
Practice Manager - This is one of our senior dental nurses. They manage the day to day running of the clinic and are the first point of contact for any queries. |
Reception and Admin - These are our front of house and the first person you will see. They manage the day-to-day appointments, booking from waiting lists and producing information letters for patients, parents/carers and referrers. |
Referral Manager - The referral manager is responsible for managing all referrals, new patient appointments, and waiting lists. |
